Fond du Lac County firefighters respond to garage fire near Rosendale

Several area fire departments responded to a structure fire Wednesday, December 11, 2024 in the Town of Springvale.

At 5:49 PM the homeowner at W11079 Davis Road returned home to find a garage on fire. After calling 911, fire departments from Rosendale, Brandon/Fairwater and Lamartine were dispatched. Upon arrival, crews saw heavy smoke coming from the large building which was 26 feet wide and 80 feet long. Because of the size, a MABAS call went out bringing in units from Eldorado, Ripon and Waupun Fire Departments.

It was learned the fire started when wood next to a wood burner in the building caught fire. Because the fire was discovered soon after starting and the fire departments quick response, the fire was extinguished before substantial damage was caused to the building and items inside.
