Fond du Lac County In Need Of Emergency Foster Homes For Displaced Children

Fond du Lac County has announced it is in need of emergency temporary foster homes for children.

The County says it is experiencing a high level of need for foster homes for children who cannot be safely maintained in their homes with their parents due to a variety of co-occurring factors.

These factors may include: substance abuse concerns, untreated mental health and trauma, lack of support systems, domestic violence, financial strain and a combination of these factors.

When children are not safe at home, out of home placement is often needed on an emergency basis.

Every effort is taken to locate family and others that are known to the child or children; however, at times, those individuals either cannot be located or are not available to provide care. In these situations, an emergency receiving foster home is needed.

The county is currently seeking a receiving foster home to be available to accept placements for children 24 hours per day 7 days per week.
