Fond du Lac County man sentenced for voter fraud in 2022 election

A Fond du Lac County man was sentenced Monday, March 24, 2025, to seven days in jail and a $1500 fine for voter fraud which was committed in a 2022 election.

Martin Kehl of Alto, entered a no contest plea to Felony Election Fraud – Voting by a Disqualified person, back in February of this year. According to the complaint, Kehl registered to and voted in the November 8, 2022 election but was serving a Felony OWI Probation sentence at the time, making him ineligible to vote.

The prosecution was hoping for a 30 day sentence, but a recent health condition of the defendant resulted in a lighter sentence.
