Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies Search For Elderly Man Who Was Located After Getting Ride

An elderly man was the subject of an extensive search yesterday in the town of Calumet.

at 12:10 P.M., the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched for a missing 82 year old man who walked away from his house.

The man had no cell phone with him or any other way to obtain a possible location.

His wife believed he had possibly tried walking to the City of Fond du Lac which was over 8 miles away.

Deputies responded to the area and began searching for the man, talking with neighbors and a construction crew who said they saw the man walking down the road approximately an hour before deputies arrived.

A sheriff’s office K-9 and two drones were brought in to assist in the search and The City of Fond du Lac Police Department was asked to check some locations in the city in case he had gotten a ride in a vehicle.

About 2 hours after the man was reported missing, deputies received notification that the man had been given a ride to an address near the City of Fond du Lac and that he was safe.

Deputies responded to the residence where they made contact with the man.

He was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment, though no injuries were suspected.
