Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s K9 Rip helps officers find hidden stash of drugs

Law enforcement in Fond du Lac County, with the help of the keen nose of Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office’s K9 Rip, found drugs in a vehicle stopped by a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper Friday night.
Rip alerted on the vehicle during an open air sniff and the deputy noticed a small black box with a cord attached to it tucked under the front passenger-side headlight. The box had two magnets glued to the back of it, allowing it to cling to metal in the engine compartment. Inside the box was a large quantity of suspected counterfeit oxycodone M30 tablets likely containing fentanyl.
The driver, a 30-year-old Milwaukee man, is currently on parole for burglary and auto theft, and has a pending case in Brown County for possession with intent to deliver fentanyl. He was arrested and transported to the Fond du Lac County jail to face an additional possession with intent to deliver fentanyl charge in Fond du Lac County.
