Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Possibly Exposed To Fentanyl

A Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office deputy needed to be seen by emergency medical personnel last night after he possibly came into contact with fentanyl while on a traffic stop.

At 8:45 the officer pulled over a vehicle for suspected intoxicated driving in the area of County Highway B and Hamilton Road. While interacting with the traffic stop, the
officer requested assistance and an ambulance after he started to feel light headed and nauseous. The officer stated he had narcan to self administer if needed though
it’s unknown if he needed to use it or not.

The person involved in the traffic stop was cited for a variety of charges including possession of fentanyl, Misdemeanor bail jumping, operating while intoxicated 3rd offense,
failure to install court ordered ignition interlock device, no insurance, expired registration and operating after revocation.

The deputy was transported to an area hospital and treated and released.
