Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office investigating fatal motorcycle crash

At approximately 3:51 p.m. on June 24th, 2025 the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received multiple 911 calls reporting a serious crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck at the intersection of County Highway V and Auburn-Ashford Drive in the Town of Auburn.

Deputies from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, along with personnel from the Campbellsport Fire Department and Campbellsport Ambulance.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a motorcycle traveling southbound on County Highway V struck a pickup truck that was proceeding eastbound from the stop sign on Auburn-Ashford Dr. The motorcycle and operator of the motorcycle traveled into the southeast ditch. The pickup truck came to rest on Auburn-Ashford Dr just east of County Highway V.

Emergency responders arrived to find the motorcycle operator pulseless and not breathing. Despite life-saving efforts, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries at the scene. He has been identified as an 18-year-old male from Campbellsport, Wisconsin. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 32-year-old Campbellsport man, was treated and released at the scene by paramedics. He is cooperating fully with the investigation.

Speed of the motorcycle appears to be a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office. Assisting at the scene were the Campbellsport Police Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, the Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Fond du Lac County Highway Department.

County Highway V remained closed for approximately four hours during the investigation and scene cleanup.
