Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue Make Quick Stop To Save Apartment From Fire

The Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue Department quickly extinguished a fire on a porch Sunday, April 9, 2023.

At 5:00 p.m. the department was dispatched to a report of an apartment fire at 394 Pine Tree Drive.

Upon arrival, Fire Companies found flames and smoke coming from a second story balcony and porch of the apartment.

Firefighters were quickly able to evacuate tenants, knock down the flames and perform overhaul minimizing the fire damage to the exterior and attic area.

One apartment sustained minimal water damage.

All occupants were allowed to return to their living space once ventilation occurred.

There were no reported injuries during the incident.

Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue Investigators determined the fire originated on the second floor balcony from improperly discarded smoking materials.
The Fire Department reminds residents that it’s imperative that smoking materials be fully extinguished and placed in an appropriate fire-proof receptacle.
