Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue respond for mattress fire at River Hills Apartment Complex

The Fond du Lac Fire Department is investigating a fire at the River Hills apartment complex over night.

At about 3:45 AM the department was called for a fire alarm. When crews got on scene, they found smoke in the building at 124 River Hills Drive and residents were evacuating.

Upon entry to the building, fire fighters found smoke and determined it to be coming from a mattress that had caught fire in an apartment but was now out.

An ambulance responded for a person complaining of smoke inhalation.

No other information has been released by the fire department as they are still investigating the scene. KFIZ will update the story when and if a press release is issued.
