Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue Saves House On Fire

The Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue Department responded to a house on fire last night on Bell Terre Drive. A dead end east of 151 and south of 23.

Initially the call came in for a smoke detector going off. Department protocol has only a couple of trucks respond to alarms, but after the first units arrived on scene, they found that a fire in a fire place had spread to an area within the fireplace unit. A call went out for the rest of the department and the fire was extinguished before it was able to spread to anymore of the house.
