Fond du Lac High School Swim Team Making Waves

The Fond du Lac Cardinals boys swim team is surging through the winter season with determination, depth, and a growing sense of momentum. With a conference record of one win and two losses, the Cardinals are steadily sharpening their competitive edge as they move toward the crucial stretch of their schedule.

While the entire roster has shown meaningful progress, four swimmers have emerged as consistent leaders in the pool: James Krantz, Logan Gilgenbach, Simon Sirna and Miles Sinra. These swimmers are not only improving individually but also elevating the competitive spirit of the entire team. Their weekly time drops reflect both talent and relentless work ethic.

Head Coach Nikki Schneider, supported by assistant coaches Kole Davis and Sophie Schmidt, shared praise for this year’s team:

“We have been blessed once again with a wonderful group of young men on our team this season. While we have many individuals new to the team and the pool, they are working hard to learn and grow—and we are seeing that growth at our competitions, and day after day in the water. Our veteran swimmers are really pushing themselves to hit their goals, and we are enjoying finding new ways to push them in order to help them do just that. Swimming is so fun in that EVERYONE wins when they improve on their own times—or swim an event they couldn’t complete in the past. We’ve been having fun as a team, and I can’t wait to see what these guys will accomplish in the next month—and in our Championship Season.”

Her words reflect a program built not only on performance but on culture, camaraderie, and personal growth.

Saturday marks one of the most significant meets of the Cardinals’ regular season—a 10‑team invitational hosted at the Fond du Lac Aquatic Center. The meet begins at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 17th, at 100 W. 9th Street.

The field includes: Baraboo, Bay Port, Berlin, DeForest, Hartford, Sheboygan Christian, Waukesha North, Waunakee, Wayland Academy

This meet brings some of Wisconsin’s strongest programs under one roof, offering Fond du Lac a rare chance to measure itself against non‑conference opponents. With championship season just weeks away, this invitational serves as both a proving ground and a confidence‑building opportunity.

With momentum building and a major home meet on the horizon, the Cardinals are entering a pivotal moment in their season. The combination of emerging talent, veteran leadership, and a supportive coaching staff positions Fond du Lac to make meaningful strides as February’s championship meets approach.
