Fond du Lac Homicide result of botched drug robbery

Prosecutors have released new information in the form of a criminal complaint on the February 13th stabbing death of a 20-year-old woman in Fond du Lac.

According to the complaint, 20-year-old Annaka Trudell of Fond du Lac, who is charged with the murder, made a plan to rob Ashley Calo of West Bend of drugs, so she and 21-year-old Dawson Miller, also of Fond du Lac made a plan to pretend to want to buy drugs from Calo, but not pay for them.

The group met in the parking lot of Anytime Fitness near the intersection of north Macy and west Follett Street on the night of the 13th. Miller allegedly told Trudell to have a knife with her in the event the robbery went bad.

After the altercation where Trudell ended up stabbing Calo several times, Trudell ran back to the car where Miller was waiting and the two fled. Calo then got in her car and attempted to drive off but passed out due to her wounds and her car drove up on some bushes behind a north Main Street business where officers found her unconscious. She was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Trudell is facing charges of first-degree intentional homicide by use of a dangerous weapon and is being held on a $2 million bond, and Miller is charged with being party to a crime of conspiracy to commit felony murder, party to a crime of armed robbery with use of force, and harboring or aiding a felon and is being held on $1 million bond.
