Fond du Lac man arrested after domestic situation/stand off

On Saturday, October 25, 2025, at approximately 10:26 p.m. the City of Fond du Lac Police Department arrested a 45-year-old Fond du Lac man following a domestic violence incident that occurred at an apartment in the 1000 block of Primrose Lane.

At around 7:30 p.m., FDLPD Officers responded to a report of a domestic violence incident taking place in the parking lot of the complex. Upon arrival, Officers located a 43-year-old woman who had been physically assaulted by her 45-year-old husband. Witnesses reported that the man fled back into his apartment, and shortly thereafter, heard what they believed to be a single gunshot from inside the residence.

FDLPD Officers immediately moved the victim to a safe location and issued a precautionary shelter-in-place order for nearby residents. A perimeter was established, and several neighboring apartments were evacuated as Officers worked to secure the scene and ensure public safety.

Due to the potential threat and report of a gunshot, the FDLPD SWAT and Crisis Negotiations teams were activated, along with support from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team.  Armored rescue vehicles, K-9 units, and specialized drone and robot resources from Technology Response Groups were also deployed to assist in the operation.

The situation was safely resolved later that evening, and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident. The investigation remains ongoing as FDLPD Detectives continue to conduct interviews and gather evidence.

The City of Fond du Lac Police Department was assisted by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Fond du Lac Fire Rescue.

No additional details are being released at this time as the investigation is in its preliminary stages.
