Fond du Lac man charged in Oshkosh homicide

A Fond du Lac man made his initial appearance in Winnebago County Court Tuesday, July 9, 2024, for the killing of a man July 2nd of this year in Oshkosh.
According to the criminal complaint in the case, 18-year-old Daniel Wilson shot a 19-year-old Michigan man after the man approached Wilson and others about buying drugs. Words were exchanged before Wilson allegedly shot the man. Wilson told a witness the man was reaching into his waistband and Wilson thought he was grabbing a gun.
The victim suffered five gun shot wounds: three to the chest, one to the neck, and one to the hand.
Wilson is charged with first degree intentional homicide and is being held on a $1 million cash bond.
His next court appearance is July 25th for a preliminary hearing. The same day he faces a jury trial in Fond du Lac County for battery and disorderly conduct charges there.
