Fond du Lac man charged with threatening to kill high ranking state executive office official and their family
On Thursday, July, 2, 2026, Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric J. Toney announced that Bradley Hartmann made his initial appearance on July 1, 2026, after being charged with three counts of Terrorist Threats and four counts of Unlawful Use of the Telephone.
The charges stem from alleged threats Hartmann made on June 28, 2026, in which he threatened to kill a high ranking Wisconsin Executive Office official and their family.
The official is based in Madison, Wisconsin.
Judge Christenson set cash bond at $15,000 and the next hearing is scheduled for July 23, 2026. Hartmann is presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty.
District Attorney Toney stated “America has witnessed horrific acts of political violence in recent years, and we know political violence is not a Democrat or Republican issue, it’s a societal issue, which will never be tolerated in America.
We will protect our public and elected officials, regardless of what political party they may belong to and we will hold those accountable that seek to disrupt or impair government operations.”
This case is being investigated by the Fond du Lac Police Department, with assistance from the State Capitol Police.
