Fond du Lac man critically injured in crash

Rescue personnel in Fond du Lac County responded to a crash yesterday in the northeast part of the county.

Just before 4:30 PM, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call of a two vehicle crash on County Highway Q in the township of Taycheedah. The initial caller indicated that there were two persons involved in the crash and that one had been ejected from the vehicle.

Fond du Lac County deputies along with the Wisconsin State Patrol, Calumet Fire Department and First Responders, Mt. Calvary Ambulance and the City of Fond du Lac Ambulance responded to the scene.

Personnel began life saving measures on a 77-year-old Fond du Lac man that had been ejected from one of the vehicles. UW Med Flight medical helicopter was requested to the scene due to the seriousness of the man’s injuries. A 34-year-old female from Fond du Lac was driving the second vehicle involved and was uninjured.

According to the sheriff’s office, the woman was westbound on Q near Stenz Road, and attempted a left-hand turn into a driveway in front of the male driver. The man is currently hospitalized in critical condition.
