Fond du Lac Mother stabbed by son – officers intervene
On Saturday, March 21, 2026, at approximately 7:50 p.m., the Fond du Lac Police Department responded to a 911 welfare check in the Harrison Place neighborhood. Within moments, what began as a routine check escalated into a critical, life-threatening emergency.
The first arriving Officer was advised that an individual inside the residence was armed with a knife and may have already stabbed another person. As the Officer continued to assess the situation, urgent screams were heard coming from inside confirming an active and escalating act of violence.
Recognizing the immediate threat to life, additional Fond du Lac Police Department Officers arrived and, without hesitation, forced entry into the apartment. Fond du Lac Police Department Officers quickly located the suspect and took him safely into custody, bringing the violence to an end and preventing further harm.
Fond du Lac Police Department Officers immediately shifted their focus to the victim, a 51-year-old woman suffering from severe injuries. In those critical moments, Officers provided life-saving care, including the application of tourniquets, working urgently to control bleeding and stabilize her condition until paramedics arrived. The victim was transported by City of Fond du Lac Fire Rescue to a local hospital, where she was taken directly into surgery for treatment of her critical injuries.
This violence has been determined to be domestic-related. The suspect, a 24-year-old male, is the victim’s son. The suspect was transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail.
Chief Aaron Goldstein stated, “The actions of the responding Officers, hearing those calls for help, forcing entry into a dangerous and uncertain environment, stopping the violence, and providing critical medical care reflect an unwavering commitment to protecting life and serving this community when it matters most.”
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional information will be released as it becomes available. No additional details are being released at this time.
