Fond du Lac officer and Fire Rescue members revive man after possible medical condition that caused car crash
A City of Fond du Lac Police officer and members of Fond du Lac Fire and Rescue are being credited for reviving a man that briefly fell unconscious and stopped breathing while driving Monday, January 19, 2026.
At about 9:20 a.m., a call came in reporting a single vehicle crash in the 200 block of 6th street. The caller stated that a vehicle had just crashed into a tree there.
A Fond du Lac Police officer first on the scene immediately started CPR and continued life-saving efforts until Fond du Lac Fire Rescue arrived and took over medical care.
The 30-year-old man was stabilized and transported to a local hospital, where he continues to receive medical treatment.
Preliminary investigation shows the driver was traveling eastbound on 6th Street and had just crossed South Park Avenue when the crash occurred.
Investigation suggests the driver may have experienced a medical emergency prior to the crash. No other vehicles or individuals were involved. The incident remains under investigation.
