Fond du Lac Police arrest suspect in shooting in Fond du Lac business parking lot

It took the Fond du Lac Police Department less than 15 hours to investigate, name a suspect, locate the suspect and take him into custody in a shooting incident that took place Sunday, October 20, 2024.

At around 2:30 AM Sunday morning, The Fond du Lac County Communications Center received a call of a disturbance on north Main Street in the combined parking lot of Fast Taco and Hoppers Screen Printing + Embroidery.

While on the phone with the complainant, the call taker heard what sounded like a gun shot.

Upon arrival, officers located a 24-year-old Fond du Lac man with a gun shot wound to his shoulder area. Officers gave emergency medical aid to the man before City of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue arrived and took over. Due to the nature of the wound, ThedaStar Medical Helicopter was called to transport the patient to a level one trauma center.

Fond du Lac Police detectives processed the scene and identified a person of interest. Later during the day Sunday, the 52-year-old Fond du Lac man was located leaving his residence and taken into custody.

Police executed a search warrant on the man’s house and vehicle where evidence of the shooting was located.

The man is facing charges of 1st Degree Reckless Endangering Safety, 1st Degree Reckless Injury, Battery, Disorderly Conduct, and two counts of Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.
