Fond du Lac Police Department K9 team finish first in regional competition
The City of Fond du Lac Police Department announced this week that department K9 Jesus and Officer Ben Hardgrove finished at the top of a competition, competing against more than 60 K9 teams from across Wisconsin and Iowa.
At the Jessiffany Canine Services seminar the pair competed in 12 demanding events that test not just skill, but trust, discipline, and partnership.
This finish marks two years in a row, K9 Jesus and Officer Hardgrove have finished Top German Shepherd Team, and this year… they also won Top Overall K9 Team for 2026.
The department says this win represents a commitment to excellence, not for recognition, but for the safety of the community served.
Individual Event results were:
- 1st place for Gun Fire Around Man
- 2nd place for Luggage Detection
- 2nd place for Hard Dog / Fast Dog
- 3rd place for Open Area Search for Man
- and 3rd place for Felony Traffic Stop / Extractions
The police department adds, behind every one of these finishes is time, sacrifice, and a standard that refuses to settle.
