Fond du Lac Police Investigate Animal Abuse Allegations – One Arrested

A viral video of potential animal abuse has caught the attention of the Fond du Lac Police Department. Saturday afternoon, a Fond du Lac woman started recording a man
she believed was abusing a dog in the 100 block of north Berger Parkway.

The woman uploaded the video of her interaction with the man and it quickly went viral.

Fond du Lac Police Chief Aaron Goldstein released a statement Sunday saying the department was made aware of the video and was receiving emails and Facebook messages from around the country regarding it. Goldstein said police were dispatched to the scene Saturday after the woman called police to report the incident, but the man was gone from the area when they arrived.

Using the video, police identified the man as a 38-year-old Fond du Lac resident.

On Sunday, police observed the suspect driving in the area of west Johnson Street and north Seymour Street and conducted a traffic stop on the car he was in. He was taken into custody without incident and was held at the Fond du Lac County Jail on multiple charges.

Goldstein says the department is working through the process of custody of the animal and assessing it for any injuries or illnesses that require attention.
