Fond du Lac Police participate in latest Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over campaign

Police agencies across Wisconsin are stepping up efforts to keep impaired drivers off the road.

The Fond du Lac Police Department is participating in the statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign, which runs through September 7, 2026.

Officers will be out in greater numbers and for longer hours, particularly as people celebrate the final weeks of summer and the Labor Day weekend.

Police say the goal isn’t simply to make arrests, but to prevent crashes and save lives.

Drivers who plan to drink are encouraged to arrange a sober ride ahead of time, use a rideshare service or other safe transportation, and never allow an impaired person to get behind the wheel.

Anyone who sees a suspected impaired driver should call 9-1-1 and provide dispatchers with the vehicle description, location and direction of travel.
