Fond du Lac Police warn of vehicle entries

The Fond du Lac Police Department is reminding residents to secure car doors and garages after a rash of vehicle entries have occurred in the city.
Police have received multiple reports of open garages and unlocked vehicles being rummaged through overnight, mostly in the central portion of the city. Police say no significant thefts have been reported, and in some cases, nothing was taken, but they are urging everyone to take proactive steps to help protect their neighborhoods.
Aside from the obvious of locking doors, they give other tips to deter crime, such as keeping your house well-lit using motion-activated lights.
Police are asking residents in the area bound by Park Avenue, Merrill Avenue, 4th street to just east of St Agnes Hospital, to review Ring or security camera systems for any suspicious activity, especially from the past few days during the evening and overnight hours. If you notice any suspicious activity, report it to the Fond du Lac County Communications Center at 906-5555.
