Fond du Lac residents arrested breaking into vehicles – driving stolen car

On Tuesday, June 11th, 2024, at approximately 1:18am, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a report of several subjects entering vehicles in the Manor Hill Manufactured Home Community in the Village of Eden.

The caller was able to provide a description of at least one subject. Deputies with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office responded and searched the area on foot, and via patrol squad.

While deputies were on scene, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received an additional report from another resident in the Manor Hill Manufactured Home Community of several individuals entering vehicles. As deputies checked this area, they heard, and observed, several subjects running away from the manufactured home community. The subjects matched the description provided by the callers.

A sergeant with the department deployed a drone with thermal capabilities to search the area and four suspects were located concealed in tall grass near the mobile home community, hiding from sheriff’s deputies. The drone pilot was able to direct the deputies to the concealed subjects, and they were detained without further incident.

Deputies recovered evidence from the suspects consistent with vehicle entries and thefts from several vehicles. Deputies also located a vehicle nearby, and determined it was associated with these suspects. The vehicle ignition appeared to have been tampered with, and deputies determined the vehicle was stolen from the City of Fond du Lac.

The four males from the City of Fond du Lac were booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail for several counts of Theft and one count each of Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent – Party to a crime.

One of the males was out on bond through Fond du Lac County on four separate cases, including: resisting and obstructing an officer, misdemeanor bail jumping, retail theft, and battery.

One male had outstanding warrants through Fond du Lac and Winnebago Counties for criminal charges, including: resisting and obstructing an officer, misdemeanor bail jumping, neglecting a child, retail theft, battery, and disorderly conduct.

Another involved male is on community supervision through the Wisconsin Department of Corrections – Probation and Parole.
