Fond du Lac School District releases Department of Public Instruction expectation report card
***SUBMITTED BY FDL SCHOOL DISTRICT***
The Fond du Lac School District kicked off the year with a new era, and it has been a great start. New standards are set for our future. The entire Fond du Lac community has united to welcome a culture shift from a status-quo organization to a learning organization focused on continuous improvement. The community has come together as a result of an approach to building systems and supports that improve teaching practices while focusing on each and every student’s learning. We have united in a student-centered commitment that supports continuous growth.
The Fond du Lac story for the 2023-24 school year begins with the data from last year. We are pleased to note a significant improvement in 10 of our 14 schools from last year. In fact, 13 of our 14 schools are meeting or exceeding expectations. Fond du Lac High School is now meeting state-level expectations for the first time since the 2013-14 school year. Chegwin Elementary saw a 16-point score improvement and met expectations for the first time in six years.
Nine of our 14 schools are exceeding expectations on the DPI Report Card. Evans Elementary, a National Blue Ribbon School for 2023, significantly exceeded expectations, as well as Lakeshore Elementary (up from exceeds expectations on last year’s school report card).
The chart below presents our rating for the Fond du Lac School District (as a whole) and our individual schools in relation to Wisconsin DPI expectations. These results highlight some of our successes and identify potential areas of focus for the district. It is important to remember that these report cards are just one source of information about the schools in our district.
