Fond du Lac woman accused of killing West Bend woman in bad drug deal set to stand trial

The woman who killed a West Bend woman in Fond du Lac during a drug deal gone bad will be heading to trial for her crime.

20-year-old Annaka Trudell was in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court Monday, November 18, 2024, for a plea hearing for the February 13th stabbing of Ashley Calo in the Anytime Fitness parking lot near the intersection of north Macy and west Follett Street.

Trudell and 21-year-old Dawson Miller devised a plan to set up a drug deal with Calo in the parking lot, but not pay her. Miller allegedly told Trudell to have a knife with her in the event the robbery went bad.

After the altercation where Trudell ended up stabbing Calo several times, Trudell ran back to the car where Miller was waiting and the two fled. Calo then got in her car and attempted to drive off but passed out due to her wounds and her car drove up on some bushes behind a north Main Street business where officers found her unconscious. She was transported to the hospital where she was
pronounced deceased.

Trudell’s trial is set to start May 19th.

Miller, is charged with multiple felonies, including felony murder as party to a crime for helping to set up the robbery and helping Trudell hide. His trial is set for September 15th.
