“Fondy Flight Night” to benefit Old Glory Honor Flight
Basketball fans will be able to help out veterans in
northeast Wisconsin during Friday night’s doubleheader against Hortonville at
Fond du Lac High School. Proceeds from “Fondy Flight Night” this Friday at the
Acuity Field House will support the Old Glory Honor Flight’s 10th
anniversary, which gives veterans the opportunity to fly to Washington D.C. to
visit memorials dedicated in their honor. The fun on Friday night includes a Paper
Airplane Distance Challenge and a Fold-N-Fly Airplane Toss. Finalists from
local schools will compete in the distance contest, with one winner from the
elementary level, one from middle school level and one from the high school
level. Those student winners get a prize pack from EAA. Fans can also purchase
paper airplanes and fly them at halftime to try and win prizes. The boys’ game
tips off at 6 pm with the girls game to follow around 7:45. Admission is free
for all Fond du Lac School District students, adult tickets are $4, seniors 62
& older are also free.
