Fondy Wins Thriller At Fruth

The 3^rd ranked Fond du Lac football team rallied for a 14-7 win over 8^th
ranked Neenah
at Fruth Field on Friday night. Fondy led 6-0 at the half as Alex Ruppel caught
a 25 yard TD pass from Jack Nejedlo with 1:09 left in the 2^nd
quarter.  The extra point was
missed.  The Cardinals defense dominated
the first half holding Neenah
to just 18 total yards to their 128.  Neenah grabbed a 7-6 lead
with :05 seconds left in the 3^rd quarter when Jake Resch hit Joe
Jung on a 16 yard TD pass to cap an 88 yard drive.  The extra point gave the Rockets the 7-6 lead
heading into the 4^th quarter. 
Justin Maratik punched one in from 1 yard out with 1:34pm to give Fondy
the lead.  Quinn Woelfel caught the 2
point conversion to make it 14-7   Ryan
Collien’s interception with 1:13 left sealed the deal.  Maratik finished with 163 yards on 34
carries.  Jake Walgenbach had two more
interceptions to bring his conference leading total to six.  Fondy is now 5-0 overall and 3-0 in Valley
Football Association South Division play. 
They will host Oshkosh North next Friday night at Fruth.  North is 3-0 in league play and 4-1 overall
with their only loss to #1 ranked Kimberly.
