Former Correctional Employee Sexual Assault Trial Pushed to January
A trial for a former prison worker charged with having sex
with an inmate and sending him nude photos is being pushed back until next
year. 38-year old April Paulsen is charged with second-degree sexual assault by
a correctional staff member and two counts of delivering illegal articles to an
inmate. She was originally scheduled for trial this week, but it was delayed
upon a request by the defense.
Acting on a tip – prison security and
investigation back in May, about a month after Paulsen began working at Oshkosh
Correctional Institution. She is no longer employed there, and the Department
of Corrections cites a no tolerance policy for sexual harassment or sexual
abuse. Paulsen is now set to stand trial on January 8th.
