Former Fond du Lac restaurant employee pleads guilty to criminal trespass to dwelling charge

The drama surrounding the now closed down A Family Affair Soul Food Restaurant on south Main Street in Fond du Lac continues in the Fond du Lac County courts.

In April of last year, Troy Allen of Fond du Lac was charged with Criminal Trespass to a Dwelling, Theft-Movable Property, and Criminal Damage to Property after he was accused by the restaurant’s owner Arletta Allen, of breaking into the restaurant in 2021. At the time, Troy Allen, who is Arletta’s former husband, was a former employee at the restaurant. Arletta claimed Troy broke in after hours to damage and steal from the restaurant and afterwards pleaded to the public to help her pay for the damages.

Troy was convicted of the Criminal Trespass to Dwelling charge on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, with the other charges dismissed but read into the records. Allen was sentenced to time served in the matter.

Now it’s Arletta’s turn to appear in court as she faces charges of arson and insurance fraud after being charged for starting a fire at the restaurant, also in 2021. She is scheduled to stand trial next month. She faces a maximum sentence of 55 years in prison for the charges.
