Four Children Rescued From Man Threatening To Kill Them And Others In Oshkosh

Four children were rescued from an overnight domestic situation in Oshkosh that lasted almost 9 hours into Monday morning.

Police were called to the area of south Main Street between 9th street and South Park Avenue shortly after midnight Monday, June 5, 2023 for a report of a man pointing a gun at people in the residence and threatening to shoot them.

Upon arrival, police found two children on a second story balcony and were able to get them down to safety.

At some point, police say other people came out of the house and said the man with the gun and two children, a 1 and 2 year old, were still inside.

After surrounding the residence and closing Main Street, police eventually entered and rescued the children and found the 35 year old man hiding under some blankets.

He was taken into custody on a probation warrant.

South Main Street was opened back up to traffic around 9 AM.
