Four Injured In Fond du Lac County Crash – Two Flown To Area Trauma Centers

An 18 year-old man from Sheboygan was flown to a local trauma center after being involved in a one vehicle crash Saturday afternoon.

At 5:39 PM the Fond du Lac County Communications Center received a call that a vehicle had crashed in front of N1267 County Highway GGG, south of the Mauthe Lake Recreational Area.

Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived on scene to find a total of four people injured in the crash.

Three of them were able to make it out of the vehicle while one remined pinned in the vehicle and was unconscious.

An investigation into the crash showed that the 31-year-old driver from the Kiel area was northbound on GGG when he lost control of the vehicle and entered the east ditch before rolling over multiple times.

The vehicle then crossed back over the roadway and came to a rest in the west ditch.

The driver, a 31-year-old male from Kiel, and another passenger, a 19-year-old man from Kohler, were transported by Kewaskum Ambulance to Froetdert Hospital in West Bend. Both sustained minor injuries and were treated and released.

A 14-year-old boy from Sheboygan, was transported by Campbellsport Ambulance to Froedtert Hospital in West Bend. He was later flown by Flight for Life to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin – Milwaukee with serious injuries.

The 18 year-old man that was pinned in the vehicle and required extrication was flown from the scene by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee with serious injuries.

Speed and careless operation of a vehicle are contributing factors in the crash, which remains under investigation by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.

CTH GGG was shut down between County Highway S and the Mauthe Lake Campground Entrance for approximately 5 hours.
