Freezing fog creates driving hazards on area roads this morning

Areas of dense fog combined with below freezing temperatures have led to some icy conditions Tuesday morning, February 20, 2024.
Two crashes in the Campbellsport area have led officials to call out the highway department to lay some salt down on the roads.
The first reported crash was on Highway 45 and B just before 7:30 AM where a pick-up truck was flipped on its side in the ditch. No one was injured in that crash. Shortly after, a two vehicle crash occurred on Highway W southwest of Campbellsport where one vehicle was reported in the roadway with a person having a leg injury.
Reports came in that the road was icy so the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office requested that the highway department come out to tend to roads.
Conditions should improve quickly as the sun comes out to melt the frost.
