Gorske Eyes 40,000 Big Macs

32,340 consumed, and no signs of slowing down.

That’s the total of Big Macs eaten as of last week for Fond du Lac native and national celebrity Don Gorske.

Gorske started eating the sandwiches back in 1972, averaging two a day. The Big Mac man keeps track of the Big Macs by saving the receipts and the packaging. His wife says that, even though the diet is nutrionally deficient, the doctors say Gorske is in pretty good health with exceptionally low cholesterol.

Don Gorske says even though he’s downed nearly 33,000 Big Macs, he skips the fries and keeps himself in shape by staying active and walking six miles a day. If all goes as planned, Gorske should be consuming his 40,000 Big Mac sometime in fall of 2031.
