Governor Signs Bill Returning Money To Taxpayers
Governor Scott Walker signs the half billion dollar tax cut plan into law in Shawano County Monday morning, setting the stage to return $504 million to Wisconsin taxpayers over the next two years. He says if you lower the cost of doing business and living in the state, they turn around and put that money they would otherwise pay taxes with back into the economy. The tax cuts would be in the form of property tax cuts, income tax cuts, and reduced state income tax withholdings. Democrats call the tax cuts an “election year gimmick.” The tax cuts are the result of the state’s nearly $1 billion expected surplus.
