Green Lake County 911 system – and non emergency phone lines down 12 hours

Emergency and non-emergency phone service for the Green Lake County communications center has been restored after being out for nearly 12 hours Sunday, March 24, 2024.

At 11:24 AM the department sent out an email to media to get the word out about the outage and to provide alternate phone lines to call, including the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office.

At 7:35 PM, they broadcast an emergency public safety message through local cell phone companies announcing the same information. According to the release, the outage affected the sheriff’s office, as well as Berlin, Markesan, Green Lake and Princeton Police Departments.

Just before 11:30 PM, the sheriff’s office sent out a release saying the phone lines were back up and working.
