Green Lake County In Discussions With Dodge County Regarding Coroner Position

The open Green Lake County coroner position could be filled by a neighboring county.

Green Lake County officials have reached out to Dodge County to inquire about offering medical examiner services for Green Lake County.

Discussions have included the possibility of eliminating the Coroner position within Green Lake County and instead creating the office of Medical Examiner.

The need to fill the position arose following the unexpected passing of Dan Krieser last August, just three months after he took over the role.

The application deadline to fill the position had already been extended to this Friday, February 11, with Governor Evers set to make the appointment.

If Dodge County does provide services to Green Lake County, it would not be unusual as a number of counties in the state already have similar agreements in place.
