Greenwood Running For 5th Assembly District
Tim Greenwood, an attorney, announced his candidacy to represent Wisconsin’s 5th Assembly District.
In a press release issued this week, Greenwood said “Growing up in Kaukauna, WI, I learned the importance of family, strength of the community, and hard work.”
“Those values have served me well in my work as an attorney. I am running for Assembly to get results and create solutions to better our state.”
Greenwood was born and raised in Kaukauna, WI, and graduated from Kaukauna High School in 2009. He went on to earn his Bachelors of Science at UW-Oshkosh while also working for the UW-Oshkosh Police
Department as a Community Service Officer aiding in providing a safe community for the campus.
He then worked as a paralegal for two years while studying for the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) before being accepted at Marquette University Law School and graduating in 2018.
While in law school, Tim interned at the Vel R. Phillips Juvenile Justice Center providing legal research for Milwaukee County Judges and Court Commissioners, as well as attending meetings for the Family Drug Treatment Court; the court aids parents whose children have been removed from their care due to drug use in their rehabilitation with the intent of reunification with their children.
Since 2018, Greenwood has practiced law at private practice firms in Milwaukee and Sauk City, WI, primarily focusing in family law (divorce, legal custody, and physical placement).
In 2019, he also began serving as a Guardian ad Litem for Columbia County to represent the best interest of minor children involved in
family law matters before the court.
“It is important that we create a future that addresses the needs of the district and our state,” added Greenwood. “I believe in the need to improve education opportunities for students, while also empowering parents’ input in education, making common-sense solutions to ensure our elections are safe and secure, keeping our communities safe, small government, and ensuring personal liberty and freedom.
Greenwood has been married to his wife Devon since June of 2021. They are moving back home to Kaukauna this Spring.
