Ground Broken For NFDL Building Trades Cooperative Project

A groundbreaking was held in North Fond du Lac Monday morning for home that will be built by Horace Mann High School Building Trades students. It is being done through a cooperative partnership with Mark Cardinal Concrete, Smith Builders, and Drexel Supply. The home will be built on a vacant lot at 1001 Michigan Avenue, a former tax delinquent property. Mike McDowell of the Building Trades program says it will give the ten students practical experience in building a home. North Fond du Lac Schools Superintendent Aaron Sadoff says it is the first home the building trades program has built in several years and all they have to do is supply the labor. Building Trades student Austin Leon says they are grateful for the opportunity to build a home, just down the street from the high school. The home should be completed by June.
