Gun Thefts From Oshkosh Vehicles

This year, the Oshkosh Police Department has taken 15 reports of guns being stolen from vehicles in the city. The Oshkosh Police Department has taken a total of 25 stolen gun reports in 2017. In comparison, Oshkosh Police took only seven theft of gun from vehicle incidents in 2016. Almost all of the thefts from vehicles this year have occurred when the owner of a vehicle fails to lock the vehicle and fails to remove the gun from the vehicle when the vehicle is not in use. Most of the thefts have occurred overnight.
