Hard plastic found in Johnsonville brats leads to recall

Johnsonville of Sheboygan County have announced a recall of one of their brat flavors due to the possible contamination of a foreign substance.

The recall of cheddar brats was officially issued on Saturday, April 5, 2025, and affects 19-ounce packs of the product. No injuries or illnesses have been reported, however, two people did report that they found a hard plastic material in their brats.

It is estimated over 22,000 pounds of the Johnsonville product could be contaminated, many of which may be in consumers’ freezers.

Those with the cheddar brats are urged not to consume them but rather to throw them out or return them to their place of purchase.
