Harvest Time Means Slower Moving Farm Traffic
Harvest time means you will see more farm machinery on county highways and roads. That also means other drivers will need patience and should anticipate slower moving traffic. State Patrol Inspector Scott Hlinak says there will be trucks, tractors and trailers going to and coming from farms. Other drivers also complain about the muddy roads those trucks and farm machinery leave behind when they are coming out of the field. Hlinak says there will be a lot of large vehicles on small roads and you have to learn to expect it. Drivers should also be cautious around dusk. Those tractors are supposed to be lit up at night, but you might not anticipate the slower moving traffic as you’re driving along.
