High speed chase ends in Ripon with suspect in custody Sunday morning

A man was taken into custody early Sunday morning, April 27, 2025, after leading Wisconsin State Patrol Troopers and Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies on a high speed pursuit through northwestern Fond du Lac County.

A trooper with the state patrol started chasing the vehicle around 1:30 a.m. Sunday when he noted some driving infractions on County N near Interstate 41. A quick check of the registered owner showed they had a revoked drivers license and had six prior operating while intoxicated convictions.

With speeds reaching 100 mph, the driver continued to elude the trooper west on N. The driver eventually made it to 26 where a Fond du Lac County Deputy was waiting with a tire deflation device, but the driver was able to maneuver around them. Now south on 26, that deputy was now also engaged in the chase.

Approaching Rosendale at 100 mph, the driver turned west on Rose-eld road. then south on M and then back west on Highway 23.

At the Ripon City limits a Ripon officer was able to successfully deploy a tire deflation device. In Ripon the trooper pitted the vehicle but the driver was able to proceed a short distance more before being stopped and taken into custody.

The driver was also found to have a warrant out of Milwaukee County.
