High Speed Pursuit
A 33-year-old Fox Lake man is facing charges for a high speed chase involving Fond du Lac and Dodge County Sheriff’s officials late Friday night. Other drivers reported the man driving recklessly on I-41 in the Town of Eldorado nearly striking other vehicles. He exited onto Highway 151 southbound where deputies tried to stop him. He increased his speed to nearly 100 miles an hour and was seen throwing items from the van. As the pursuit neared Dodge County mutual aid was asked for and Dodge County deputies deployed tire deflation devices. That slowed the pursuit and Fond du Lac deputies were able to box in the suspect’s vehicle at Highway 151 and Highway 49. The chase covered 13 miles. The suspect was the lone occupant of the vehicle and was booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail on charges of felony eluding, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating with a restricted controlled substance and multiple non-criminal citations. The suspect also had outstanding warrants for his arrest. A Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s squad car and the suspect’s van both sustained minor damage towards the end of the pursuit. The time of the call was 11:22 p.m.
