One dead in Highway 175 crash

The driver of a car that crashed into a semi on Highway 175, south of Fond du Lac is dead and the passenger in the car suffered serious injuries Saturday afternoon, December 2, 2023.

Just before 5 PM a call came in from the semi driver to the Fond du Lac County Communications Center saying that he was backing the semi into a driveway when a vehicle failed to stop for the semi and drove under it, getting wedged underneath.

The crash happened in front of N4936 Highway 175. Upon arrival, emergency responders found both occupants trapped in the vehicle with the driver deceased and the passenger with serious injuries. ThedaStar medical helicopter was called to transport the passenger to a local trauma center.

Highway 175 was closed for several hours while the Wisconsin State Patrol did a crash reconstruction of the incident.
