Highway 21 work in Winnebago County gets moved from 2027 to 2026

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) announces the Highway 21 proposed resurface-level improvement project beginning south of the Highway 21 bridge over the Fox River in the city of Omro to just west of the North Washburn Street roundabout in the city of Oshkosh will be advanced from 2027 into 2026. The proposed improvement will provide safety benefits along the Highway 21 corridor between Omro and Oshkosh.

The Highway 21 project is a resurfacing-level improvement that includes roundabouts at the intersections with County FF, Sand Pit Road, and Leonard Point Road.  It also includes offset left turn lanes at the Highway 21 intersections with Oakwood Road and Westhaven Drive. Improvements further include concrete repair, shoulder work, upgrading curb ramps for ADA compliance, and beam guard replacement.
