Holiday Automotive To Install 856 Solar Panel Array On Rooftops

Holiday Automotive has announced that they have hired Arch Solar out of Plymouth to begin work on a 469 kW solar installation on the Holiday grounds; the largest solar
power system of any Wisconsin auto dealer.

To date, Holiday has had five, level-2 electric vehicle chargers and one DC fast charger already installed and are planning to install another 12, level-2 chargers and four more DC fast chargers within the next 10-months.

Holiday Automotive CEO Thor Gilbertson says “As we add more electric vehicle charging stations at Holiday, we feel it’s important to offset a significant portion of the electricity that we use as a company. We’ve got a lot of rooftop space, and as electric vehicle adoption continues to increase, it just makes sense to use some of that space for solar power.”

The Holiday Ford facility will be outfitted with a 460-panel array and the Holiday Collision and Glass Center will add 396 panels. Holiday has contracted Arch Solar, to do the work. Mike Cornell of Arch Solar stated, “The 469 kW system is estimated to offset over 50% of the power usage of both buildings.”

Work is expected to begin in late summer, with a fall of 2023 completion estimate.
