Holy Family Director of Human Concerns to receive prestigious Vatican II Award

A Fond du Lac woman is being recognized by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee for nearly two decades of service to the community.

Erin Cobb, Director of Human Concerns at Holy Family Catholic Community, will receive the St. John XXIII Award for Spirit of the Council as part of the Archdiocese’s annual Vatican Two Awards.

Cobb has worked at Holy Family for nearly 20 years, serving families in a variety of roles before becoming Director of Human Concerns.

Her work now includes helping people dealing with trauma, grief, illness, divorce, hardship, addiction, human trafficking and other challenges.

Under Cobb’s leadership, Holy Family has launched programs including Blessed Bites, which provides free weekly meals and personal-care supplies, and Summer Bites, which provides free lunches during the summer.

She also oversaw the opening of the Holy Family Warming Shelter in 2023.

Cobb is also involved with several community organizations focused on health, drug prevention and access to care.

She’ll receive the award September 22nd at the Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist in Milwaukee.

Cobb says she was shocked and humbled by the recognition, adding that she considers it a blessing to serve the Fond du Lac community.
