Hot and humid, and maybe severe weather on the way

While today, Saturday, August 24, 2024, looks to be a bit warmer and more humid then the last week, forecasters say the worst is yet to come.

They say a weather pattern will continue to build into Monday, which is expected to be the hottest day with highs expected to reach the low 90s, with dewpoints in the low to mid 70s. This will yield heat indices between 95 and 105, and they say it seems probable a Heat Advisory will eventually be needed for at least part of the area.

The heat and humidity will linger into Tuesday as well but a cold front with possible severe weather will then bring cooler weather to the area.
