Hurricane Harvey Collection Effort Continues

Efforts continue at the American Legion Post in Fond du Lac to fill a semi-trailer with donations for Hurricane Harvey victims in Texas. Squadron Commander Mike Kollmansberger says area residents donated items throughout the Labor Day weekend, but they still have about half of the trailer to fill. Kollmansberger was overwhelmed by the support of the community effort. Once the trailer is filled it will be taken down to a town just outside of Houston where a local American Legion post will handle distribution of the items to Hurricane Harvey victims. Items needed include non-perishable food, bottled water, personal hygiene items, blankets, new socks and underwear and more. Collection hours are from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Post at 500 Fond du Lac Avenue.
